Trauma-oriented anti-violence and competence training of the FrauenTherapieZentrum - FTZ München e.V.

Women's Therapy Center - FTZ München e.V.

Originating from the autonomous women’s movement, the FTZ offers a women-friendly network of counseling, care, treatment, housing, therapy and self-help. Based on various integrative, holistic concepts and methods, women are addressed in their unity of body, mind and psyche.

Trauma-oriented anti-violence and skills training (TAKT)

TAKT is aimed at women who want a safe and nurturing partnership, who want to break through the dynamics of destructive conflicts, who want to transform a tense atmosphere into a safe togetherness and who want to change violent reactions into regulated actions.

In a group of five to seven women, a safe space develops over several sessions in which topics are dealt with in a trauma-oriented way.

The topics include:

  • Developing a sense of security with oneself, in relationships and in the living environment
  • Strategies for use in acute situations
  • Individual, helpful resources
  • Your own family history
  • Emotions: Confronting and dealing with anger in particular
  • Reflect nervous system states and associated patterns
  • Redesigning roles and tasks in the relationship
  • Alternative conflict resolution strategies and communication techniques
  • Setting and maintaining your own boundaries

There is also a low-threshold online service called “konTAKT”. This gives participants insights into the main topics.

The support of the CHAJA Foundation reduces the participation fees for TAKT and konTAKT, covers the cost of materials and enables the counselors to receive monthly supervision.

PROJECT AIMS

The trauma-oriented anti-violence and skills training aims to create non-violent relationships. This and the psychosocial orientation and counseling offered help the participants and their environment to establish a safe coexistence and to live in solidarity. The conscious handling of emotions and the ability to deal with psychological, emotional and social challenges strengthens the resilience of the women and their health.
